Can you believe we are 25% through 2026?! In this episode of Mind Your Own Beeswax, I’m sharing a real, honest look at how my 2026 goals are going.

Key goal setting tips for 2026:

  • Break goals down into quarterly plans.
  • Set goals for every area of your life.
  • Becoming the kind of person who achieves the goal matters more than the goal itself.
  • If you don't know what goal to pursue yet, start pursuing yourself. Work on becoming the healthiest, most happy, most confident version of you.

This is your reminder that progress over perfection is what actually gets you results and that even small goals (like booking appointments or building habits) can lead to big life changes.

I’m also sharing my Q2 goals and plans, including growing this podcast to 1000 downloads, getting back on track with routines, and pushing myself out of my comfort zone.

Whether you’re doing a quarterly reset, goal review, or trying to stay motivated in 2026, this episode will help you refocus and move forward.

Well, can you believe it? We are 25% of the way through 2026. I feel like I've blinked and we're basically in April, which seems absolutely crazy. But here we are, another episode of Mind Your Own Beeswax. My name is Grace, and thank you so much for joining me today. Spoiler alert, but one of my big goals for 2026 was to start a podcast. So here I am doing exactly that. I just had a nosy and I have ticked over 120 downloads. Woohoo! Thank you so much to everybody who has downloaded and listened. I genuinely check the app about 50 times a day. So every single download, I'm like, where are they from? What device are they listening to? I love you all and I'm so appreciative of every single download. Now that I've hit 100, the next goal is a thousand. And I'm hoping, fingers and toes across, I can get to a thousand by the end of June. So help me make it happen. Download all my episodes, send them to your friends, send them to your mom. Help me spread the love. I love goal setting. Goals are a big part of my personality, and you best believe January and December are big months for me. I'm goal setting, I'm visualizing, I'm vision boarding, I'm doing my tarot reading for the year. I am absolutely coming at my goals from every single angle. Now I thought I could do this podcast episode as a 25% of the year check-in and share with you where I'm at with my goals. And I hope that that can inspire you to check in with your own goals, see where you're at, see what you've already achieved, and create a plan for where you are going. When it comes to goal setting, I personally divide my goals up into quarters. So I will write a list for the whole year, but I plan them out quarterly. So what do I want to achieve in the first quarter of the year, the second, the third, and the fourth? I find this really helpful because I set a lot of goals and by dividing them up, it's just a lot more achievable, particularly if you need time or if you need money to do certain things. By spreading them out throughout the year, it makes them a lot easier. It also is a great way to keep yourself accountable because if you have a big goal that needs time to work towards, you can sort of set little micro goals to achieve each quarter, you know. As an example, a goal of running a marathon, right? So maybe you want to run a marathon by October. So the first quarter you could have a goal to run 10Ks, the second quarter, you maybe work up to 25Ks, the third quarter you work up to running 30Ks, and you've sort of achieved those little goals. And then come the last quarter, boom, she's running a marathon. Easy as. And it helps you stay on track. And I think by having those little goals throughout the year, it's also a sense of achievement. Like as you're ticking them off, you're like, yes, yes, I have done that. And this is something I do with myself. I sit down at the end of the quarter and I look at where I'm at. That's kind of the list I'm going to talk through today. So I've got things I've already achieved, things that are in progress, things that I am yet to start. So I'm looking forward to sharing them with you. My second tip in terms of goal setting is that think about every area of your life. Running a marathon or getting a new job, those are really easy goals to set. But I highly recommend setting goals in every area of your life. So an example would be setting a goal for your relationship, setting a goal for your mental health, for your physical health, for your well-being, for your family, for your home. All those kinds of areas set a goal and they don't have to be big, but it is important to have a goal because when you're feeling good in all those other areas of your life, you're going to feel really fulfilled and happy. And when you're fulfilled and happy, that will help you become the best version of yourself, who's going to achieve that goal. And if I use the example again of running a marathon is your goal, if your home is messy, chaotic, it's falling apart, it needs some love, that's going to be detrimental to your marathon goals. You know, if you wake up in the morning and your house is messy, you can't find your sneakers, you can't find your activewear, that's not going to set you up to have a good start. And that's going to make you not want to go for a run. So if your home is tidy, if your home is organized, if everything has its place, it's going to help you wake up and go for a run. You best believe I have goals for every area of my life. And because I have goals in all those areas, I am able to do big things. This podcast being a prime example, if I was not feeling healthy, I would not be able to show up and record this. If I was not feeling happy and healthy and safe in my home, I would not be able to record my podcast here. If I was feeling stressed and overworked in my career, there's no way I would have time for this side hustle. Do you see what I mean? When you're feeling fulfilled and you're feeling good in all those areas, it helps you propel forward and achieve those really big goals. So what are my goals for 2026? I hear you asking. That's the burning question. What are you doing this year, Grace? Well, number one goal, spoiler alert, starting a podcast. Here I am, in progress, done, ticket off. That is absolutely green, and I achieved it in the first quarter of the year, which I'm really proud of myself for. I'm gonna evolve that goal, and my next goal is to have 1,000 downloads by June and to do a full year's worth of podcasting. So March next year to have released 52 episodes. My next goal for the year was doing acupuncture and trying traditional Chinese medicine. Now, this is something that I really wanted to do for my health, and I felt very much called to do this. I kind of think it was honestly a bit of a download from the universe in late 2025. I've heard a lot of good things about Chinese medicine and acupuncture, so I thought this is the time to give it a go. Now I'm very thankful to pass Grace because way back in December she did the research, she found a practitioner, she made a deposit, she booked the appointment, and then January rolled round and I just turned up. It was great. I'm very much grateful to myself for being so organized, but I've stuck with it. I've had an appointment every week for the last like 12 or 13 weeks now, it's been. I've been really consistent and been seeing some really great results. So I'm gonna stick with that, but I'm giving myself a tick. That was a goal. I set out, I've done it, I'm gonna keep going with it. And like I said at the start, doing acupuncture sounds like a bit of a weird goal. But when I do acupuncture, it is helping my mental health, it is helping my physical health. And because I am feeling good, I can show up, I can do my job, I can be a great partner, I can be a great friend, hopefully I can be a great podcaster. Because I feel good, every other area in my life reaps the benefits. So set yourself a health goal right now. Now, my third goal was around my home, and I wanted to do a new floor. So we've bought the flooring, we're gonna put it throughout the house. I've got this goal is in progress because I have not done it, but we've purchased the flooring, we've got it booked in. It's happening, it's happening soon, but it hasn't happened in this quarter. So we're in progress. But again, having a goal for my home, you best believe when that new flooring is in, I will be the happiest chap you've ever seen. I will be looking at that floor every day thinking, wow, I love this house. It's gonna look so beautiful with all our furniture. The vibes are gonna be great, the feng shui energy is gonna be flowing. I just can't wait. It's gonna be so good for my mental health. A new floor, I'm gonna be a new woman. And kind of further to this goal, number four, this is a weird goal. Hear me out. I had a goal of teaching my dogs to wee on a patch of astroturf. Yes, I know. Probably the most random goal you've ever heard. But if I'm gonna get a new floor, I cannot have my beautiful little dogs having a little wee wee accident on the flooring. So we bought one of those AstroTurf dog wee mats, and the girls need to learn to use it. They can get outside, but they're little princesses, and if it's raining or perhaps we have to lock them inside because there's a storm, they need to have a place to go to the bathroom. But I have learnt the hard way that as the saying goes, you can't teach an old dog new tricks, aka you can't teach an old dog to piss on a way mat. It has been tough, and I'll be honest, I probably have not made the most amount of effort. So that goal is still in progress, but the flooring is coming soon, so I need to get a wiggle on. So Q2, stay tuned, new floor, teaching my old dogs new tricks. Another goal I had was signing up to a gym and doing my shoulder exercises, which again sounds random. I've got this crusty old shoulder injury that bloody hell, three or four years of CrossFit doing overhead stuff, did not do me favors. And I've been going to the physio, and the physio always gives you exercises, and I'm like, yeah, yeah, yep, yep, yep, yep, got it. I haven't been doing the exercises, don't tell my physio. But I signed up to a gym. I have been a few times and I have done the exercises. However, I need to be more consistent. I need to stick with it. I need to be consistent. That's really what I need to do here is I need to be consistent with my exercises. So, again, I'm giving myself a tick. I signed up to the gym, I have been a few times, but I need to be consistent. That's the goal for the rest of the year is to be consistent with my shoulder rehab exercises. And finally, a goal I had for this quarter was to get my passport renewed because travel is a big priority for me, and I need to travel. Your girl needs to be run free, she needs to run wild, I need to be gallivanting all over the planet. No, maybe not. The state of the world right now, I don't know if anything's gonna happen. But I did have plans to go overseas later this year, and I need a passport, so that was a goal. I have not done it. Q2, I need to get on down to the post office, get a new photo, fill out the paperwork. Again, getting a passport is not an exciting goal, but if I don't do it, I can't achieve my goal of traveling. So little goals are little steps to those bigger goals. Okay, so that's basically where I'm at. When I look ahead at the next quarter, so April, May, June, and I'm hoping in June we can do a 50% of the way through 2026 episode, and I'll have more updates. So I'm hoping in the next quarter, obviously, floors done, dogs pissing on the piss mat. I will be doing my regular shoulder rehab, I will be podcasting, I will have a thousand podcast downloads. A couple of other things that I wanted to add. So I have on my Q2 list is to start attending events. Now that I'm podcasting, I want to be a social butterfly. I want to go and network, I want to go and connect with people, I want to put myself out there. And this is something really scary. And I feel like attending events solo is low-key scary, but I'm gonna put myself out there and I'm gonna have a go. So I'm hoping by the next quarter check-in, I will be able to say, guys, I've been to so many events, I've met so many people. Fingers and toes crossed, that will happen. Okay, bit of a random one that is also on my Q2, is that I'm 31 now. And if I'm honest, my forehead is looking a little bit creased. The crow's feet are crowing, the fine lines are there. I've been thinking about Botox. So I have a goal to just go and get a Botox consultation and just like suss it out. Is it for me? Is it not? I'm not sure. So my goal is to just go and find out more, not to do anything, just to go and talk to someone. And if I go ahead with it or I don't, that's all good. But my goal is to just go and talk to someone about it. And if you're listening and you have something that you've been thinking about doing or buying, or something that you just have on your mind, just book that appointment. You don't have to make any commitment, you don't have to do anything serious, just go and ask the questions. And by having that appointment, perhaps it will rocket you forward towards your goals, or you will realize actually, no, that is not for me, and that's all good. So Q2 is gonna be a cracker. I'm gonna be podcasting, new flaws, my dogs are gonna be living their best life, I'm gonna be feeling great, I'm gonna be looking young and snatched, fingers crossed, and my number one, a thousand downloads on the pod. That really speaks to me. And I think I'm gonna put a thousand, a thousand downloads sticky note on my vision board, and I'm gonna look at that number every single day. I can't wait. A thousand downloads, here we come. Now, a couple of final thoughts I have on goal setting is that one of my favorite books, Atomic Habits by James Clear, he really, really talks about how when you have a goal, the key to achieving your goal is not thinking about the goal. The key to achieving your goal is becoming the person who has already achieved that goal. So, what can you do today to become that person who has already achieved that goal? What are the kinds of things that that person says? What are the kinds of things that that person does? What are the habits of the person who has already achieved that goal? When you start thinking those kinds of thoughts and acting that way, it's gonna propel you forward and bring you so much closer to achieving your goal and it will make it a whole heap easier. My other note that I want to share with you is that if you are not feeling a goal this year, if you just feel like nothing is speaking to you, you don't want to set a goal, nothing is vibing with you, you don't know what you want. That is okay. I have been there and the quote that got me through those times is something absolutely incredible. So there's a book called Visualize by the author Maya Ryorka, I think her name is. And the quote says, if you don't know what to pursue yet, start pursuing yourself. Work on becoming the healthiest, most healed, most confident version of you. So if you don't know what you want, just become the best version of yourself in every single way. And like I said, think about all those areas of your life, your relationships, your health, your fitness, your career, your mental health, your home. Think of them all and just make everything the best version. How can you be happier? How can you feel healthier? How can you feel more fulfilled? How can you have better finances? All of those areas, I think that's such a great perspective. Because sometimes we don't know what we want, and that is totally okay. So just become the best version of yourself, and that will give you purpose. It will help you feel like you are working towards a goal without having a specific goal. That's okay. You don't have to be pacifically specific, as I like to say. Just become the best version of yourself. I will leave you with that, my friends. Go out there, get after your goals, plan your goals out into quarters of the year, set goals for every area of your life, become the person who has already achieved your goals. And if you don't know what you want this year, just become the best version of yourself. I feel like that was a really great summary if I'm just gonna toot my own horn here. That summarized the whole episode so quickly. Maybe I need to insert that at the start or as a sound bite because that's some good advice. It's short and sweet. That's what I love. I don't want to wrap it on for too long. I just want to deliver a strong message that is easy to digest. You can hear it and go, Wow, perfect. I'm gonna change my whole life. That's the goal. I hope this podcast can change your life because hopefully it's gonna change my life too. Thank you for letting me in your ears today. Feel free to share this episode with your friends, send it to your mom, send it to your nan, put it on your stories, follow me on socials, give me a like, give me a comment.
